Description
Alternate History - Australian Imperial Militia Service Uniform Code (1939)
Following the collapse of the British Empire in 1919 it's dominions begun to break away. Out of the ex-dominions Australia flourished and following a long civil war came out stronger than ever.
The Australian militia, or the Citizens Force as it was called pre-war, has a long part in Australian history. Between 1850 and 1870 all Australian colonies relied on their militia forces for defence. They served in protection of Australia from the Russians in the Crimean War (1853-1856) as well as the Maori Wars (1845-1872). After that the colonies begun to make permanent forces and upon Federation in 1901 they became even less important. In my alternate Great War scenario the Citizen Forces became a part of the conscription effort and were deployed in France against Germany. The reformation of the Citizen Forces resulted in the Australian Imperial Militia Service (AIMS). They remain an active force in Australia and serve as a trained manpower reserve for the Australian Armed Forces.
The AIMS has a variation of uniforms for use in a variety of roles and deployments. The uniforms above belong to an Australian Imperial Militia Service Lance Corporal Trooper from the 1st Militia Garrison, City of Monashville, Austral Division AIMS. He comes from the Imperial State of Austral.
